10 Years Later: Living the Work
This blog turns 10 this August, and as I approach this milestone, I’ve been reflecting on the many seasons I’ve shared here — navigating life moves, creativity slumps and how to advocate for a more feminine approach to the ‘system’ of business. And more recently, the life changing shift of becoming a parent. This space has been my digital sanctuary for exploring what it means to be a sensitive person in a (very) loud world.
From Intellectual to Tangible
But lately, I’ve felt a shift. I realized that it wasn’t enough for me to just talk about sensitivity or intentionality anymore—I needed to live it more tangibly. And by that, I mean, live my values more loudly, and be proud of them.
Nature has always made sense for me, so without sounding cliche — my roots need a new pot. To move from ‘thinking’ to ‘doing’ in a more everyday, day-to-day way. And to bridge that gap, and answer the nag nudge of my heart, I’ve created a new medium to share! YouTube.
A space to share the lived experience of everyday activism and heart-centered living. But more than that, a space to be human. It’s about taking our values seriously, while also not taking ourselves too seriously at all.
What to Expect in This New Chapter
On the channel, I’m sharing much more of my day-to-day life. Including:
DIY Interiors: Like the recent transformation of a bookshelf into our new coffee corner.
Sustainable Kitchen & Home: From thrifting to conscious curation, learning to balance my love of beauty with the Earth’s need for sustainability.
Everyday Activism: Documenting how we host eco-friendly milestones—like a recent sustainable first birthday party—and how we repurpose what we already have.
The Ripple Effect
Since having my boys, the marriage of beauty and sustainability have become non-negotiable for me. They are going to inherit this Earth, and I understand now that change doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in the small ways we choose to spend our days.
If the last ten years were about uncovering these values, the next ten are about inhabiting them. Deeper, and more fully.
I am so deeply grateful to have had you here for the last decade. I’d love for you to join me over on YouTube as we start this new chapter together.
And ps. I’ll still be here too.
XO
Robin
