Our little one arrived at the end of August and while there is so much good to say about maternity leaves, I’ve always known that taking time off wasn’t part of my path. I was never meant to be a stay-at-home mom. But knowing this and being able to implement it was a task. There is so much pressure on women to be primary caregivers, from a societal perspective, but also from our own bodies. For many of us, we are the baby’s food source. Our heartbeats are also the place they feel most safe and at home…
This past week was tax week at the diary of an empath. Typically I try to be a bit more ahead of the game, but the last year I’ve fallen behind on a lot of things, including my own bookkeeping and needed to spend extra time this week organizing expenses, tracking down documents, and updating my spreadsheets.
Working on your business versus working in your business are two very different things. While both are instrumental in your success as an entrepreneur, how you assign time to each and differentiate between the two is very important.
If unfamiliar on the difference of working on your business versus working in your business, working in your business is doing the day-to-day tasks that need to be done (offering services, doing admin work, etc). While working on your business is being able to strategize and make the necessary plans, changes and decisions to grow your business and hold the bigger picture. When we are stuck working in our business…
The growth of your life’s work depends on your ability to show up for it. But what growing my own creative business over the last five years has taught me is that you’re not always going to feel inspired to open your computer, get out your art supplies or sit down to start the work. Or feel like you have it in you to do the things that you need to do.
This past week I’ve been sharing on Instagram about how I find inspiration in my own business, and wanted to share a few more productivity tips here with you too. To help you generate the momentum you need to grow your own offers...
As an empath, or someone who is highly sensitive, energetics strongly influence how you take action, and one of the easiest ways to begin working with energetics is to begin to tune into the cycles that affect us as individuals and as a collective. A few I track in my life and business are…
Four years ago I left my social work job to become a full-time entrepreneur. Though many cautioned against that decision, I knew it was what I needed to do. It was a heart pull; a pull that has led me to the most fulfilling work and lifestyle. However, the journey to get here wasn’t always easy and I know many people who read my blog are in the early stages of starting their own businesses or have businesses they are ready to grow, so I felt it would be helpful to share a few things that I wish I knew.
In Gemini season I wrote was about finding expanders. In Cancer season it was about the mother wound. And now in Leo season I feel pulled to write about self-worth, a topic coming up for me a lot lately as I’ve been preparing my nervous system for the Empaths in Business rebrand happening this fall — a shift that’s seeing me through many moments of doubt and old patterns of self-sabotage.
The moon is in beautiful Cancer, a maternal sign that welcomes us home. And for many of us, that’s a softer way of approaching the world. For many of us, we’ve been taught to be much more masculine than we really are. So what would it feel like to not be like that? To reclaim ourselves with our next step? Our next breath? By making the decision to soften back into ourselves.. to be ourselves… to not make things so difficult by trying to fit ourselves into a mold that never fit us.
So that we can become vessels,
Vessels that birth a way of living that feels safer for so many.
For me lately, this looks like taking my makeup off, stopping anything that feels too performative
Like a baby bird, our offers go through their own hatching process as they make their way into the world.
